Epitaph for Catherine Jane Callahan Jones
Catherine, a native of Carthage, MS passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, in the comfort of her home.
Born to the late, Christine Stokes Gardner (Willie C.) and John Callahan, Sr. on September 5, 1964.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Christian Union MB Church. Mole, as she was affectionally called attended Leake County Public Schools for her education. She traveled and enjoyed life in the early years to various places. Her hobbies included reading, writing, she was the Queen of spades and loved to gather with family and friends creating memories that will never be forgotten. She had a passion for cooking and could prepare the most delicious meals, her grandchildren were her first priority, her heart was made of pure gold.
Those who transitioned from this life before her included her parents; Christine and Willie Gardner, nephews: Christopher and Anthony Callahan.
She leaves to treasure her lifelong memories with her children; LaTonya Jones, LaShawn Jones, LaBrisha Jones, Jeremiah Jones, Yorsha Jones, Jerrian Jones, and Laterrion Jones, twenty-one grandchildren, Six great grandchildren, Her father; John Callahan, Sr. Her Loving Grandmother; Lillie Bell Stokes Wingo, Her siblings; Jackie Callahan, Tina Gill, Teresa Callahan, Johnny Gardner (LaShandria), Larry Gardner (Kenya), Cynthia Gardner, Keith Callahan, Kevin Callahan, and John Callahan, Jr. aunts; Arma Cook and Annie Wingo, a vast array of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Mole’s death leaves a void in the lives of those she touched, her memory will live on forever, and we take comfort in knowing that she made peace with God and her weary days have come to an end.
