Karen Abigail Stewart

Karen A. Stewart was born June 15, 1961, to Willie L. York- Stovall and the late O. B. Stewart in Carthage, MS.

She joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, served as an usher and later a financial secretary, and remained a member throughout her life.

Karen graduated from South Leake Attendance Center in 1980. After graduating, Karen was an employee of Tyson Foods from 1981 until her retirement in 2020. After retirement, Karen devoted her life to taking care of her mother, while also helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her Aunt Queen, grandchildren, cooking, shopping, and reading. Her loving and caring spirit affected everyone she met.

She believed in treating others the way she wanted to be treated.

Karen a devoted Daughter, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother leaves behind her memories, her son Arron Stewart, Mother Willie Stovall , Brother Roy (April) York, Two Aunt’s Queen E. York (God Mother) and Earnestin Leflore, six grandchildren DeArron Stewart, Desmond Stewart, Te’Karyn Stewart, DeNisha Jobe, Dontaries Jobe, Kendariurs Jobe, 3 great-grandchildren De’Ayshia Jobe , Ahyden Jobe, Averi Jobe, Niece’s Shari Ellis and Shaquetta (Jeffrey) Johnson, Nephew’s Toma York , Rodrick (Latoya) York, Clinton Cobb, and Chadrick York, God-sisters and Brothers Gladys (Melvin) Slaughter, Minnie York, Annie (James) York-Rimmer, Victor (Shantae) York, other neieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and bonus grandchildren Brittany Jordan, Amari Jordan, and Aaliyah Jordan. She was preceded in death by her late father O.B. Stewart and sisters Williette Armon and Dorothy Jean Ealy.
