Larry Hoye

June 22, 1948 ~ December 25, 2021 (age 73)

Obituary

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, Neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; For the former things are passed away. (Revelations 21:4)

Larry Hoye was born June 22, 1948 in Carthage, Mississippi to the late Cephus Hoye and Maude Lindsey Hoye.  He departed this life on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at 11:37pm at the G. V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC, Jackson, MS.  Five siblings preceded him in death.

Larry graduated from O. E. Jordan High School in 1966.  He attended Coahoma Jr. College, Clarksdale, MS.  He joined the U. S. Army in 1968 and later joined the MS National Guard.  Larry was a Vietnam veteran.  He was awarded several medals which included the Vietnam Campaign Medal, two overseas Bars, National Defense Service Medal Expert M16, Marksman M14 and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Larry also worked for the city of Carthage, and the Leake County Correctional Facility.

Loved ones remaining to cherish the memories of Larry: Mary, his wife, daughter Melissa (Robert) Moody, sons, Tevis and Keanu Hoye.  Fourteen grandchildren, DeCedrick, Marquala, Taniqua, LaMarcus, Joshua, Jeremiah, Parrish, TyKire, Demetric, Aric, Zachary, Aaliyah Moody, three great-grands Jayden Kyle, Mason and Aubree, a sister-in-law, Doris Hoye, nieces, nephews, and a host of other Family and Friends.
