Lillie Luckett Obituary

I had a good fight. I lived a good life. I embarked on journeys others could only imagine. I loved hard and was loved hard. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and burden is light.         Matthew 11:28-30

Lillie Pearl Luckett was born on March 10, 1942, in Ofahoma, MS to the parents of Mr. Johnnie Luckett and Mrs. Emma Luckett. She was the second of twenty-two children. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, JD Luckett, Archie B. Luckett, Mattie Luckett, Curtis E. Luckett, John Nathan Luckett, Richard Luckett, and one sister Elizabeth Luckett George.

She received her education in the Leake County School District. She was a housekeeper and nanny doing what she loved the most. She always cared for everyone around her, especially her family. She was the type of lady that would give you her last penny.

"Pearl" as many knew her was a very caring, beautiful, and an awesome woman. She was exactly as a pearl is the queen of all gems and the gems of all queens. She was also an excellent sister, friend and above all an amazing aunt to many.

She was called home on May 26, 2024, around 12:30pm she went peacefully to be with God and her family.

She leaves to cherish her memories three sisters: Gertrude Luckett (LD), Eddie Mae Harris (Milton), all of Carthage, MS, and Effie Lean Gunn (Ronnie) of Jackson, MS. Seven brothers; Willie Charles, Chicago, IL, Allen Luckett, Rozell Luckett, Charlie Luckett, Linton Luckett, Bobby Luckett (Valeria) all of Carthage, MS and James Body of Clarksdale, MS. She leaves her memories to cherish with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

We can't forget to acknowledge her special niece Rebecca Luckett-Foggy.
