The beautiful soul that was Marjorie Smith was born December 27, 1931, in the coal mining town of Jenkins Kentucky, to the parents of Henry and Ollie Louise Foster. She was the 10th of 11 children, and all preceded her death except her oldest sister Mary Delapp. She gave her life to Christ at an early age but never stopped growing and maturing in the work of the Lord. She worked faithfully for Christ as a Lay Speaker, Sunday School Teacher, Women’s Mission Teacher, and as a gospel singer with Gospel Echoette’s. She was joined in marriage for more 35 years to Forrest Smith of Carthage MS, who proceeded her in death. To their union was born three children, Debra Smith (deceased), Valeria LeFlore and Vanessa McBride. She leaves to cherish her memory two beautiful daughters, Valeria LeFlore of Madison, MS (Dexter Sr.), and Vanessa McBride of Flowood, MS. Six grandchildren Dexter Jr., Katrina Hudson (Sedric), Kandance Murry (Jarrett), Kaitlyn McBride, Robert McBride Jr., and Ryan McBride. Five great grandchildren De’mir Leflore, Dexter Leflore III, Kimora Leflore, Jada Hudson, and Sedric Hudson Jr. One sister Mary Delapp of Knoxville TN, and host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
