Mary Belle Wright

Mary B Wright was born 02/03/1941 to Annie Kate McBeth and Thomas James Atkins in Walnut Grove, MS. She departed this earthly life on January 16, 2024, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. 

Mary left Mississippi at the age of 16 to move to New York with her sister Betty L. Jones.  After many years in New York, Mary ventured out to Chicago, IL where she retired from commercial and residential security. After retiring, she returned to the place she called home "Walnut Grove, MS".

She leaves to cherish her memories: One remaining sister; Charlie Mae Riley, a son; Reggie Brathwaite, a daughter; Nitrisha Brathwaite-Zhang, daughters-in-law; Yi Zhang and Patrice Lane, God daughter; Tashaunna Brathwaite. She also leaves behind two nieces; Diane Lewis and Leotis Jones-Cox, Great niece and nephew Atiya Postell, and Frankie Cox. Grand Children; Tanasia Brathwaite, Treasure Bannister, Joanne Alvarez, Tiara Brathwaite, Taquan Brathwaite, Great grandchildren; Kamorah (Tootie) Lane Brathwaite, Kaleah Brathwaite, Tianna Brathwaite, and Elija Brathwaite. From Mississippi she leaves one of her closest friends; Mona Hunter, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
