Mattie Faye Earnest

Mrs. Mattie Faye Johnson Earnest was born March 5, 1953, in the Harmony Community of Carthage, Ms to the late Cleve and Clennis Johnson. She was the fourth child of eleven children.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.

Mattie was united in holy matrimony to Earl Earnest on April 25, 1970. To this union five children were born. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother until she departed her life on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

She leaves to cherish warm and loving memories of her life, her husband, Earl Earnest; three daughters, Beverly (Gary) Johnson, Vanessa (Elvis) Earnest of Walnut Grove, MS, LaToya (Eldevon) Straughter of Jackson, Ms; two sons, Anthony Earnest and Christopher Earnest of Walnut Grove, Ms; nine grandchildren, Ashley, MarQuita, Anthony Jr., Julian, Jabria, Deja, Micha, Jerrion, and Chance; six great-grandchildren, London, Zoey, Aiden, Kylie, Joshua and Jeremiah; three brothers, Cleve Jr. (Thelma) of Walnut Grove, Ms, Robert of Carthage, MS, Tony (Denise) of Milwaukee, WI; four sisters, Vera, Minnie Lou, Patricia, and Shirley all of Walnut Grove, Ms.  And a host of relatives and friends.

Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death, Billy, Johnny and Ruth.
