Raeford Gates was born on April 20, 1957 to Mother Eunice (Dorsey) Leflore and Father, Jonah (Virlena) Holloway.
Raeford accepted Christ at an early age. He later joined Truelight Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Grove, MS. Raeford served as an usher member. He received his education at South Leake High School. He graduated with the class of 1975. Raeford also attended Jackson State University for one year. Raeford and Diane united in Hold Matrimony on June 27, 2020. Raeford was employed with Coremark in Los Angeles, California until his health failed him. In his pastime, Raeford enjoyed cutting grass.
Raeford transitioned this life on Sunday, May 12, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Eunice Leflore (Dorsey) his brother, Kenneth Leflore and sisters Karen Pepers and Jan Leflore.
He leaves to cherish his memories: A loving wife, Diane Gates of Walnut Grove, MS, A bonus son Jeremy T. Millsaps. Two sisters Gwendolyn Leflore of Carthage, MS and Ms. Karen Holloway of Chicago, IL. One brother, Mr. Selwyn (Kimberly) Leflore of Marino Valley, CA. one special cousin Mrs. Helen Chapman-Preacely. Host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
