Rosie Nell Butler

Rosie "Nell" Morgan Butler of Lena, MS, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of Friday, July 5, 2024. She was born on November 30, 1947, in Leake County, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Chester and Lillie Bell Morgan, husband; Charlie Frank Butler, life partner; Eugene "Bacon" Washam, a daughter; Angela "Neecy" Morgan, and siblings; Benny F. Holmes, Will Lewis Holmes, Bonnie Young, and Rosa Lee Edmonds.

She is survived by a daughter; Robinette "Tiny" Morgan; a son Walter Solomon, her siblings; Mattie Mae Moten, Sonnie Hutchins, and Maxine Kennedy. Her grandchildren; Byron Morgan of Laurel, MS, Kendrick Morgan of Gainesville, FL., Takymrie "Tez" Fortune of Fayetteville, AK. Great Grandchildren; Jalen Eubanks, Kendrick "Alex" Morgan, Bryson Fortune, Ethan Morgan, and Eli Green.

She was also a loving aunt to a host of surviving nieces and nephews and was a jewel to many extended family members.

Rosie took great pleasure in serving her partner, family, and friends by providing a welcoming home and delicious cooked meals. She enjoyed filling her home with things she loved and took great pride in helping to raise children and grandchildren that knew how much she adored and loved them. Everyone was welcome and cared for in Rosie's home. She was cherished by all of her family and friends and will never be forgotten.
