Sheldon Terrance Griffin was born February 4, 1958 in Carthage, MS.
He was the seventh of ten children born to the late Lemar and Ida M. Griffin. He gained his wings on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Sheldon was baptized at Galilee MB Church in Carthage, MS and chose his savior to be Jesus Christ in the earlier years of his life.
He received his education at South Leake High School with the graduating class of 1976. He furthered his education at East Central Community College receiving certification for Auto Body Mechanics. He worked as an Auto Body mechanic the majority of his life until his health failed him. He also worked for Leake County School District for many years driving school buses and the Bus Terminal.
He earned the nicknames Babe and Touche while playing baseball for his hometown team, "The Harmony Tigers" as a pitcher. His hobbies include Hunting and Fishing. He served as a Mentor and a Father figure to his nieces, nephews and several children in the community.
He leaves to treasure his loving memories, Two sons, Terrance "Packy" (Charlette), Breon (Ciara) both of Carthage, MS. A daughter, Whitney Griffin of Carthage, MS. Ten Grandchildren, DaVirius, LaNautica, JaCodi, Jaxon, Breon Jr., Makiya, Braylen, Caiden (Clyde), Jayla and Takari. Two brothers, Kenneth (Rosie) Griffin of Pascagoula, MS, Dr. Charles A. Griffin (Peggy) of Philadelphia, MS. Six Sisters, Joyce Lee (James) of Charleston, SC, Ida Ruth O'Leary of Camden, MS, Carolyn Harvey, Mary Harris of Carthage, MS, Shronia Rogers (Roy) of Kosciusko, MS, Venessa Carr (Charlie) of Yazoo City, MS. One Niece/Sister, Timmaria Griffin of Carthage, MS. Two special nephews, Aaron Griffin (Jessica) and Calvin Griffin (Kristia). A special friend, Gloria Strong (Dean). And a multitude of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
