Sylvester "Cowboy" Easterling was born on February 19, 1968, in Jackson, MS to the late Ollie McDonald and Juanita Easterling McDonald.
Sylvester attended Jackson Public Schools and was a 1986 graduate of Madison Ridgeland High School. Sylvester was a lover of the outdoors. His greatest passion was horses, where he earned the name "Cowboy". He spent a great amount of time caring for and shoeing horses. He was never afraid to take on the challenge of taming horses. He would let many children ride while he held the horses and walked along side of them. He also loved fishing. He was employed with Tyson and later joined Curtis Walton and his team in Lawn Service. He loved his job and showed it in the quality of work and his patience in making sure he always did a great job.
On Sunday, April 21, 2024, the Lord suddenly called Sylvester home peacefully in his sleep. We are satisfied that he is resting with our Lord and Savior.
He was proceeded in death by three brothers: Albert Earl McDonald, Johnny Lee Townsend, Sr., and David Townsend.
He leaves to cherish his love and memories: his three sisters, Brenda Watson (Maurice), Mary Easterling (Larry), Abigail Copper, Joann Augustine (Charles), his three brothers, Ricky McDonald, Ollie McDonald, Jr. (Vanessa), Fernardo "Fred" Marshall. The entire "Ryde or Fly" Riding Club. His very special friend Josephine Carson, a stepson, John Carson and a stepdaughter, Nikki Eubanks, eight step grandchildren. Many other horse-riding clubs in Central Mississippi. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends of Carthage, MS.
